Maria graduated with a Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice (D.O.M.P) from the National Academy of Osteopathy (NAO) in Toronto and has been a member of The Canadian Alliance of Alternative Medicine (ACMA) since 2021.

Prior to Osteopathy, Maria maintained the role of Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and Certified Canadian Physician Assistant. She graduated from McMaster University in 2009, with a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Radiation Sciences and worked as a Sonographer at a Fertility Clinic and William Osler Health System. Sonography is a non-invasive, diagnostic modality, which enables us to visualize soft tissues within the body and identify disease processes.
After gaining extensive knowledge as a sonographer, Maria felt motivated to learn more about medicine to further help patients.

In 2015, Maria graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Family Medicine with a Bachelor of Science Physician Assistant Professional Degree, and worked in chronic pain, primary healthcare, and emergency medicine across Ontario.

As a Physician Assistant, she had many successes in managing chronic and acute conditions. Maria continuously learned from her patients about the best approach to address their complex and unique health concerns. Many of her patients with chronic and debilitating conditions disclosed experiencing a significant improvement in their quality of life after Osteopathic Manual treatments. She felt inspired by her patients to learn more about this form of holistic approach and decided to experience manual osteopathy herself after which she noted a significant improvement in pain and mobility.
She further researched the safety, clinical applications, and efficacy of Manual Osteopathy. Her research and first-hand experience led her to become an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner allowing her to further contribute to her patient's health journey in finding chronic pain relief and improvement in dysfunctions.
